PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The criminal cases involving two Rhode Island lawyers, one of whom alleged the other had spit on and shoved his father, has been resolved.
Stephen Dennis was charged with assaulting the father of Michael Campopiano at a Providence office building last November. Dennis in turn filed an assault complaint against Campopiano’s 67-year-old father.
The Providence Journal reports that the cases were bounced out of criminal court earlier this week.
Dennis’ attorney says the case against his client was filed for one year, meaning it will be dismissed if he stays out of trouble. Dennis’ complaint was dismissed by the attorney general.
The attorney says there are still civil cases pending.
Campopiano and Dennis are both personal injury lawyers who once worked together and are involved in a money dispute.
