PHOENIX (AP) - Officials say an 8-year-old Arizona boy remains in critical condition after he was injured while trying to ride a homemade zip line.

The Arizona Republic reports the child was flown to a hospital Monday afternoon.

Officials say he suffered a strangulation injury at a home on the outskirts of Phoenix.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Calbert Gillet says medical staff described the boy as “stable, but still in very critical condition.”

The sheriff’s office is investigating the accident.
