WHEELING, W.Va. (AP) - A hospital in West Virginia has entered a new management agreement and hired a chief executive officer.
The Intelligencer reports the West Virginia University Health System will manage Wheeling Hospital as of Thursday. Former WVU Medicine executive Douglass Harrison has been named CEO.
The board of directors says it will still govern finances and quality of care at the hospital. Harrison will oversee all hospital operations.
Wheeling Hospital Board Chair Lawrence Bandi says the hospital looks forward to working with the West Virginia University Health System, which says it is the largest health provider in the state.
Bandi also says Harrison was a natural choice to lead the hospital. He earned an undergraduate degree from West Virginia University and grew up in the town of Milton.
