FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) - Transportation officials are letting motorists know about lane reductions on I-395 in Northern Virginia.

A Virginia Department of Transportation news release says the interstate will be reduced to one lane from Duke Street to Edsall Road in the Alexandria area. The lane closures will happen from 10 p.m. Saturday and last until 9 a.m. Sunday. There will also be period traffic stoppages of up to 30 minutes between midnight and 5 a.m.

The closures are needed because of a construction project involving signs.
