PATCHOGUE, N.Y. (AP) - A 65-year-old woman has been killed and her 34-year-old daughter has been injured in a house fire on Long Island.

Suffolk County police say a 911 caller reported a fire at a house in Patchogue at about 9:45 a.m. Friday.

Firefighters responded and found 65-year-old Elisa Doughty dead at the scene.



The victim’s 34-year-old daughter, Kristle Doughty, was taken to a hospital with burns to her arm.

Police say the fire does not appear to have been intentionally set.
