THERIOT, La. (AP) - Louisiana State Police say a 44-year-old man died when his SUV crashed into a tree shortly after hitting another vehicle and driving away.
Sgt. Jared Sandifer says in a news release that Ricky Giroir Jr. of Houma ran off a curve Monday night on Louisiana Highway 315, near Theriot (TER-ee-oh) in Terrebonne (TEHR-uh-bone) Parish.
He says Giroir’s 2013 Dodge Durango had hit the other vehicle several miles north of the fatal wreck.
Sandifer says the hit-and-run accident is still being investigated and details are not available.
