KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities in Tennessee are investigating the discovery of human remains in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
News outlets report that the park issued a news release Monday saying that a body has been found by a hiker in an off-trail area near Laurel Creek Road in east Tennessee.
The park says the remains appear to be several months old.
The body has not been identified. The cause of death is under investigation.
