SEATTLE (AP) - A 2-alarm fire killed a man in the Highline area of Seattle, and investigators are trying to figure out what caused it.

KOMO-TV reports that two homes went up in flames at about 11 p.m. Thursday in the 10200 block of 10th Ave. S., and the man who was killed could not escape.

Thirteen people were displaced by the fire.

Witnesses said they heard a loud firework explode near one of the homes, and they believe the sparks ignited some moss on the roof.

Investigators have yet to rule on an official cause.
