GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a woman was killed and another woman was injured in a wrong-way crash that closed part of a Glendale freeway.

The state Department of Public Safety said Wednesday that 20-year-old Laiquan Lemon died after her car collided with a vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lanes on State Route 101.

The incident happened just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday near Union Hills Drive.

Investigators say the 22-year-old Phoenix woman steering the wrong-way car vehicle was admitted to a hospital. Her injuries are not life-threatening.

Authorities did not release her name.

They are still trying to determine if impairment was a factor.

The freeway’s southbound lanes reopened around 7:30 a.m.
