COLCHESTER, Vt. (AP) - Searchers have recovered the body of a second kayaker on Lake Champlain’s Malletts Bay after a severe storm swept the area.

The body of the 73-year-old man from the Burlington area, whose name has not been released, was recovered Wednesday morning.

On Tuesday, searchers pulled 73-year-old Celine Teeson from the water. She was taken to a hospital, where she later died.

It’s unclear if the kayakers were wearing life jackets when the storm hit.

Authorities say crews were called to a park near the bay after learning several boaters were stuck on the water as a storm approached on Tuesday afternoon.

Multiple agencies responded. Air units from the Vermont National Guard and the U.S. Coast Guard assisted in the search.
