LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities say a woman who was apparently in her bed was killed when a car slammed into a Los Angeles apartment building.
The approximately 45-year-old woman died before dawn Wednesday at the scene about 5 miles (8 kilometers) south of downtown.
Fire Department Battalion Chief Joe Lopez says a 4-year-old boy in the unit suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital,
The car’s female driver and a male passenger had to be extricated from the wreck and were in critical condition when they were transported to the hospital.
The crash occurred around 5 a.m. and ignited a small fire that was quickly extinguished by firefighters.
