LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Police say an inmate found dead at his work-release job at a Lincoln hotel had been using drugs.

Forty-nine-year-old Craig Haynes was found in the hotel basement with another worker Saturday. The other worker was given an antidote and is expected to survive.

Haynes had been doing maintenance work at the Courtyard by Marriot Hotel in the Haymarket area. He was an inmate at the Community Correctional Center-Lincoln, serving a 10- to 12-year sentence for convictions that included operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, sexual assault and making terroristic threats.

He had a tentative release date of November 2020.
