NORTH BABYLON, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a Long Island auto-parts store deliveryman hit two pedestrians with his work van, dragging one to her death.

The crash happened around 1 p.m. Monday in North Babylon. Suffolk County police say van driver Donnell Hicks hit Ann Marie Christina and Eric Krems and didn’t stop.

Police say Hicks’ van dragged the 38-year-old Christina for a few blocks, then turned, and she became dislodged as Hicks continued on his route.

Christina was pronounced dead at a hospital. The 40-year-old Krems has been treated and released.

The 26-year-old Hicks has been arrested on a charge of leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

It’s not immediately clear whether he has an attorney. A message has been left at a possible phone number for one of his relatives.
