OPINION:
I noticed with interest the importance that so many on the political left put on former special counsel Robert Mueller stating that he had not exonerated the president (“Mueller tells Congress report doesn’t exonerate Trump,” Web, July 24). Mr. Mueller testifed that “we did not reach a determination as to whether the president committed a crime” since they “never started the process” of evaluating the charge.
There were newspapers that made “Not Exonerated” their front-page headline, and there have been many calls for impeachment proceedings against the president, including from House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler.
What if, using this new version of judicial reasoning which so many Democrats have accepted, I were to declare all Democratic politicians “not exonerated” of spousal and child abuse, punishable by 20 years in prison — because I have not started the process of evaluating whether crimes were committed? What a fast way to make America great again.
