JOHNSTON, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island authorities say one person has died and a second was rushed to the hospital after a dirt bike and Jeep collided.

Two passengers on a dirt bike crashed into a vehicle on Wednesday in Johnston. Witnesses say the victim was ejected from the bike and pinned underneath the car. He was identified as 25-year-old Michael Viscolosi, of East Providence, and pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash happened at the intersection of George Waterman Road and Allendale Avenue, which remained closed for hours while crews worked to clean up the site.

The driver of the Jeep was not injured and is cooperating with Johnston police.
