BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) - Workplace regulators have an opened an investigation into the death of Washington state construction worker who was hit by dump truck.
The Bellingham Herald reports the truck hit a 25-year-old man Monday at a construction site near a Costco store in Bellingham.
The state Department of Labor and Industries says police notified its investigators about the accident Monday.
Department spokesperson Tim Church says investigators will look into how the death occurred and if any safety issues need to be addressed.
Church says the investigation will likely wrap up before the state’s six-month deadline.
Police have not released the man’s name.
