FRIENDSHIP, Maine (AP) - The Coast Guard is searching for a missing man whose empty kayak was found in Maine’s Muscongus Bay.
Officials say 79-year-old Baruch Roberts, of Thomaston, was last seen Sunday near Friendship. His empty kayak was found Monday near Allen Island.
A small boat from the Boothbay Harbor Coast Guard station, a 110-foot cutter and a helicopter from Cape Cod searched through the night.
The Coast Guard continued to search Tuesday morning. Allen Island is about halfway between St. George in Knox County and Monhegan Island.
