JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say two men who took a car for a joyride in northern New Jersey struck and seriously injured a pedestrian and hit several vehicles before they abandoned the car.
Jersey City police say the car was reported missing around 11 a.m. Monday.
The car hit the woman a short time later and then struck two vans and a car. The woman was hospitalized with serious injuries that are considered life-threatening, but it wasn’t clear if anyone in the struck vehicles was injured.
Surveillance video caught the men abandoning the vehicle later Monday. But they were soon arrested following a foot chase.
The men have not been identified, and it wasn’t known what charges they may be facing.
