YARMOUTH, Maine (AP) - Maine’s annual celebration of clams is bringing summer fun and plenty of bivalves to a coastal town.
The Yarmouth Clam Festival began on Friday, continues Saturday and runs through Sunday. Organizers say it’s the 54th annual installment of summer mollusk merriment.
Saturday’s festival includes numerous events, including an annual road race, live music and the Maine State Clam Shucking Contest. The event also includes numerous food options, focusing heavily on Maine seafood favorites.
