RIDGEVILLE, S.C. (AP) - A train derailment in South Carolina has closed nearby roads for the day.
Dorchester County Spokeswoman Tiffany Norton says a Norfolk Southern train derailed Friday morning near Ridgeville, about 35 miles (56 kilometers) outside Charleston.
The Post and Courier reports that Norton says the accident is “non-hazardous” and there were no injuries.
Orangeburg Road and Campbell Thickett Road near the derailment site are expected to reopen Saturday evening.
