DOVER, Del. (AP) - A Delaware judge has upheld a state panel’s decision to revoke the educational licenses of a former teacher and school administrator who was charged with, but never convicted of, child sexual abuse.
A ruling issued Friday says the decision by the state Professional Standards Board to revoke the licenses of Edward “Scot” Husbands was supported by substantial evidence, not based solely on hearsay, and free from legal error.
Husbands was accused in 2015 of inappropriately touching three girls during child sleepovers at his house. The Milford School District suspended Husbands without pay from his job as assistant principal at Benjamin Banneker Elementary School and told him his contract would not be renewed.
Husbands was acquitted on all charges in November 2016, but state officials nevertheless revoked his licenses.
