OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - An Aug. 28 sentencing hearing has been scheduled for an Omaha man who’s pleaded no contest to a manslaughter charge.

Douglas County District Court records say 29-year-old Anthony Harlan entered the same plea to a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Prosecutors dropped three other charges in return for Harlan’s pleas.

Police say Harlan fatally shot 41-year-old Trinity Briggs last August as they struggled in a car. Harlan was stabbed 15 times. Briggs died in the car.
