DOVER, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont town is looking to expand recreational opportunities in roughly 50 acres of undeveloped land the community is under contract to purchase.
The Dover select board recently voted to sign a purchase and sale agreement for the property on Crosstown Road.
The Brattleboro Reformer reports the property climbs up a hill to an area by the head of the Crosstown Trail next to the Mount Snow Golf Club.
Town officials say the purchase is seen as an opportunity to add elevation to existing hiking and biking trails, and possibly create a venue for disc golf, skateboarding or other recreational activities.
