BOSTON (AP) - A fire at a Boston marina likely strengthened by diesel fuel heavily damaged three boats, sinking two of them.

Fire department officials say a woman was on one of the boats, but escaped unharmed. There were no reports of injuries.

The fire at a marina in the city’s Charlestown neighborhood was reported at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Deputy Fire Chief Robert Calobrisi says two of the boats are total losses and the third may be a total loss. He estimated damages at $1 million.

As many as 50 firefighters responded to the scene and the Coast Guard has been contacted for environmental cleanup because of the fuel.

The cause remains under investigation.
