TORRINGTON, Conn. (AP) - Police have identified a woman who died after being rescued from a house fire in Torrington, Connecticut.
Fire officials say 68-year-old Donna Needham died Friday from injuries suffered in the Thursday fire at the home she shared with her 65-year-old husband, John.
John Needham remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Fire Chief Peter Towey says crews received a report of two people possibly trapped in a burning home, and they arrived to find a raging fire and a man outside with burns.
The fire was so intense that a third team of firefighters was called to the scene, including some who were off-duty.
One firefighter suffered minor burns when rescuing one of the victims.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
