PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Mainers are invited to help capture changes in sea level along a southern part of the Gulf of Maine.

The nonprofit Friends of Casco Bay is asking the public to take a photo of the Casco Bay between 10 and 11 a.m. Saturday.

High tide is at 10:30 a.m. in Portland on Saturday.

Photos can be taken using a smartphone and the Water Reporter app.

The group monitors the health of the Casco Bay and says Maine geologists estimate that sea level along the Maine Coast will rise several feet over the next century. That could lead to beach erosion, loss of wildlife habits and more sewage overflows.
