EAST HANOVER, N.J. (AP) - A fast-moving fire at a northern New Jersey home has left two people dead.
Morris County prosecutors say the fire in East Hanover broke out shortly before 8 p.m. Friday.
Authorities say the home was engulfed in flames when police and firefighters arrived a short time later. One officer kicked in the front door to try to gain entry but was immediately pushed back by the flames.
Both bodies were found in the home after the fire was extinguished. But officials haven’t said what caused their deaths.
The victims’ names have not been released. It’s not known if anyone else was in the home when the fire occurred, but no other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
