A good man with a gun stopped a bad man with a gun this week at a Family Dollar store in DeKalb County, Georgia.

Police said the good Samaritan stopped an armed robbery and perhaps the loss of innocent lives Tuesday by taking quick action with a personal firearm.

A store employee was facing down the barrel of a gun when her rescuer acted.

“She’s upset. She’s dealing with corporate right now … but she’s fine,” Sgt. Lynn Shuler of the DeKalb County Police Department told a local ABC affiliate.

The suspect was shot several times and pronounced dead at the scene, roughly 9:45 a.m. in the 7000 block of Covington Highway.

“He appeared to be shopping when he heard the confrontation at the cash register,” the officer said. “He didn’t do anything wrong. He stopped a robbery in progress and he did what he had to do.”
