NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities are searching for the driver of a car that collided with a New Jersey Transit bus, injuring three people.

The crash in Newark occurred shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday. The impact sent the bus into a light pole, while the badly damaged car was left crumbled in the intersection.

Authorities say the driver of the car fled the scene on foot and remains at large.



Two passengers aboard the bus and another person suffered minor injuries and were being treated at hospitals. Their names and further details on their conditions were not disclosed.

The accident remains under investigation.
