WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - Authorities have identified a Texas man who died in a crash in the western North Dakota oil patch.

The Highway Patrol says 26-year-old Daniel Navarrete-Resendiz of Perryton, Texas, was driving a pickup that went in the ditch and struck a light pole in the Williston area shortly after 12:30 a.m. Monday.

The pole fell on the driver’s side of the pickup, which was licensed by a well service company. Navarrete-Resendiz was declared dead at the scene.
