BASILE, La. (AP) - Louisiana State Police say a man riding an electric bicycle was killed when a car hit the moped from behind, throwing him into a ditch along U.S. 190 in Evangeline Parish.
He’s identified as 56-year-old Maritan Romero of Basile (buh-ZEEL).
Troopers are still investigating the crash. It occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday, about 3½ miles (5.7 kilometers) east of Basile.
