WESTPORT, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut elementary school principal and other staff members have been placed on paid leave while the district reviews what it calls “allegations regarding recent events.”

Westport schools Superintendent Colleen Palmer said in emails to Kings Highway Elementary School families on Monday that Principal Mary Lou DiBella and other members of the school staff have been placed on leave for at least the next few days.

The Connecticut Post reports that Palmer later sent another email in which she said the district is reviewing the unspecified allegations.

Palmer did not provide any additional information and wasn’t available for further comment. Board of Education Chair Mark Mathias also declined further comment.
