FLINT, Mich. (AP) - Authorities have closed sections of two interstate highways in the Flint area following multiple crashes amid icy conditions.

The Michigan Department of Transportation is reporting a stretch of northbound Interstate 475 was closed Sunday morning. The Flint Journal reports drivers were being rerouted off the interstate and onto a local road south of Flint.

Earlier Sunday morning, authorities closed eastbound I-69 a short distance away to clear a crash scene.

Genesee County’s emergency service agency issued a warning on Facebook for motorists to stay off the roads due to the icy conditions.
