WALLINGFORD, Conn. (AP) - Dozens of people were evacuated from a mobile home park in Wallingford amid flooding from Thursday’s heavy rains.

Emergency crews rescued residents as water from the Quinnipiac River rose over its banks and flooded the Yalesville Square mobile home park.

The Record-Journal reports that firefighters used inflatable boats to enter the park Thursday night and help residents who could not leave on their own. Nearly 4 inches of rain fell in the area, and the trailer park was still flooded with knee-deep water on Friday.

Fire crews also rescued pets from the trailer park and helped move children and staff from a childcare center.
