BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - One person is dead after a train hit a truck at a railroad crossing in southwest Montana.
Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Jeff Sargent says the accident happened Thursday morning between Belgrade and Manhattan, northwest of Bozeman. The victim was identified as 46-year-old William Terry, of Belgrade.
Sargent says the truck was headed south over a railroad crossing when the passing train hit it, and Terry was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports the collision caused Montana Rail Link to stop train traffic in both directions as law enforcement investigated and crews cleared the tracks.
