GOLDEN MEADOW, La. (AP) - A 2-year-old and a teenager were among three people killed when a driver lost control of his pickup truck and crashed into a Louisiana bayou.

A state police news release says the truck went under in Bayou Lafourche (luh-FOOSH), and none of the three was able to escape.

Senior Trooper Jesse LaGrange identifies them as 37-year-old Michael Barthelemy of Galliano and his passengers, 2-year-old Trisha Barthelemy of Galliano and 17-year-old Zackary Cheramie of Golden Meadow. They died at the scene.

The accident occurred on a curve of Louisiana Highway 308 in Golden Meadow.

Police say the driver and 2-year-old were properly restrained. A state police news release says Cheramie was not restrained in the crash.

Police say they don’t know yet if the driver was impaired.
