OLD TOWN, Maine (AP) - Police in Maine say speed was a factor in the crash that killed a 38-year-old man.

Old Town police say they responded to the scene of the crash Thursday night. WABI-TV reports the driver went off the road and crashed into a tree.

Crews attempted to resuscitate the man, but he was soon pronounced dead at the scene. Old Town Police Deputy Chief Lee Miller says indications appear to be that speed was a cause of the crash.

The name of the victim has not been released, pending family notification.
