TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - A snowstorm is expected to pass through New Jersey Thursday, causing problems for motorists into Friday morning’s commute.

Accumulations are expected to range from one inch in southern areas up to four inches in the north.

That’s the precursor to what is expected to be a major winter storm over the weekend.

The National Weather Service says it’s still uncertain which track the weekend storm will take.

That means areas around the state could receive snow, heavy rain or a mix.

There’s also a danger of road surfaces freezing up without warning, as temperatures are expected to drop quickly.
