Goldman Sachs Group Inc., up $17.17 to $197.08

The investment bank beat Wall Street’s fourth-quarter expectations, posting strong results from its advisory business.



Bank of America Corp., up $1.90 to $28.45

The bank’s profit climbed thanks to lower expenses and last year’s steady increases in interest rates.

United Continental Holdings Inc., up $5.16 to $86.36

The airline’s profit and revenue topped estimates as it has added more seats and at higher prices.

Fiserv Inc., down $2.47 to $72.57

The financial technology company agreed to buy First Data Corp. for $22 billion in stock.

Snap Inc., down 90 cents to $5.64

The video chat company announced the departure of its chief financial officer, who joined just eight months ago.

Sears Holdings Corp., up 28 cents to 77 cents

The struggling retailer’s chairman and largest shareholder, Eddie Lampert, won a bankruptcy auction to avert a liquidation of the company.

Nordstrom Inc., down $2.25 to $45.01

The department store said sales of full-price items weakened in the last two months.

Ford Motor Co., down 55 cents to $8.29

The automaker is expecting to report 2018 adjusted earnings below Wall Street expectations.
