TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson authorities say a person died after being found by firefighters in an abandoned building that was on fire on the city’s southeast side Wednesday morning.

The Fire Department says firefighters responded to a call from a resident of a nearby apartment building and found an abandoned state Department of Economic Building on fire with flames coming through the roof.

Tucson police Sgt. Pete Dugan said the injured man died at a hospital.

The man’s identity wasn’t released.

Firefighters found the victim during their initial search but a subsequent search found no additional victims.

No firefighters were injured.

Cause of the fire is under investigation.
