VERONA, Miss. (AP) - A company that makes foam products says it will begin manufacturing mattresses in northeast Mississippi, investing $1.9 million and creating 65 jobs.

Elite Comfort Solutions of Newnan, Georgia, announced the expansion Monday at its Verona factory, which currently has 52 workers.

The company plans to make mattresses that will be shipped directly to customers. Elite Comfort Solutions will be manufacturing the mattresses beginning this spring for a third party that will sell them under a different name.

Mississippi Development Authority spokeswoman Tammy Craft says the state is giving the company $63,000 for building upgrades and $30,000 for worker training. Lee County plans to offer tax breaks on new machinery, but no estimate of their value was available Monday.

The company isn’t saying how much it will pay workers.
