LOS ANGELES (AP) - High surf advisories remain in effect along much of the Southern California shoreline, and forecasters say there’s continuing potential for coastal flooding through Thursday.
Coastal flood advisories indicate that winds, seas and tides can combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore, including normally dry areas of beaches as well as parking lots.
Pounding surf on Wednesday forced closures of San Diego’s Ocean Beach Pier and the Ventura Pier, and pushed ashore a 40-foot (12.2-meter) sailboat that had been anchored off Los Angeles’ Dockweiler State Beach.
