SEFFNER, Fla. (AP) - The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a pickup truck driver they say hit a man who was crossing the street and then backed up and hit him again.
In a news release, Sgt. Steve Gaskins named 32-year-old Darryl Watkins is a person of interest in the incident that happened Thursday night in Seffner, which is near Tampa.
Officials say 46-year-old Herbert Wilson McCollough is being treated for serious injuries at a Tampa hospital
Troopers say McCullough was walking across a six-lane divided highway when he was hit by the truck. The truck driver stopped, reversed and hit the man a second time before taking off.
Authorities say the truck is a red 1990s model Dodge 1500 with a large black stripe.
