OPINION:
I’m a lifelong independent voter. I’ve voted for both Democrats and Republicans in my 53 years of voting, but today’s Democrats concern me. Their growing support for socialism, their frightening loose interpretation of the right to life, and their unwillingness to support any wall at our southern border does little to convince me they have American-citizen safety as their primary concern.
Their loss of direction was further amplified by the use of an election loser as their spokesperson after Tuesday’s State of the Union address. Couldn’t they find a more convincng person? I just don’t see a unified direction to their party. Yes, President Trump has often infuriated me. But he has shown an impressive number of positive results that grossly overshadow anything we have seen since Bill Clinton left office.
Given the choice between President Trump and any one of the many potential Democratic candidates I see today, Mr. Trump would get my vote.
