SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (AP) - Scottsbluff police say a train struck and killed a man walking along railroad tracks.

The Scottsbluff Star-Herald reports police and firefighters were called just after 1 a.m. Monday to a reported collision between a train and a car. They didn’t find a car but officers determined a man had been struck and killed by an eastbound BNSF freight train.

Investigators say crossing arms at a crossing and the train’s horn was working properly.

The man’s name wasn’t released.
