EPSOM, N.H. (AP) - Officials say a couple helped rescue a man from a burning home in New Hampshire.

WMUR-TV reports Caroline Perreault and her fiance, Jason Martin, were driving in Epsom Friday night when they saw what they thought was a bonfire.

When the couple realized the flames were coming from a home, they turned their car around and called 911.

Martin says they yelled to see if anyone was inside, and he saw a man collapse in the flames. Martin ran inside and dragged the man away from the fire.

The man has been hospitalized with second and third-degree burns.

Epsom Fire Chief Stewart Yeaton says the fire appears to have started near a wood stove.

Perreault says they’re glad they were “in the right place at the right time.”
