OLD BRIDGE, N.J. (AP) - A three-vehicle crash on a major New Jersey highway has killed two people who were passengers in a ride-sharing car.
The crash on Route 9 in Old Bridge occurred shortly before 6 a.m. Monday.
Middlesex County prosecutors say a man and woman were sitting in the back seat of the ride-sharing car that was rear-ended by another vehicle and then pushed into a third car in the highway’s northbound left lane. The pair were pronounced dead at the scene, but their names and further details about them were not immediately available.
The driver of the ride-sharing car and a person in the vehicle that rear-ended them were injured in the crash, but further details were not disclosed.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
