CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) - Animal law advocates from a variety of backgrounds are planning to gather at Harvard Law School this week for the school’s fifth annual Animal Law Week.

The week kicks off Monday with a talk by Carol J. Adams, the author of The Sexual Politics of Meat.

Adams plans to discuss the feminist case for animal ethics and how representations from animal agriculture businesses that sexualize and feminize animals promote an anti-#MeToo perspective.

Other lectures during the week will focus on a variety of topics from animal welfare litigation at the Department of Justice to undercover animal cruelty investigations and alternatives to animal experimentation.

The free lectures are scheduled for noon each day and are open to the public. The week is sponsored by the Harvard Law School Animal Law Society.
