HICKORY, N.C. (AP) - A portion of the roof at a North Carolina daycare has collapsed, and authorities say recent rain is to blame.
The Hickory Record reports preliminary reports from Fire Inspector Thomas Raper show extra weight from rain caused multiple roof trusses in the center of the building to collapse on Thursday.
Raper says no one was in the building and no injuries were reported. He said Catawba County building inspectors are conducting an investigation into the cause of the collapse. The daycare is closed for now.
