CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina-based maker of healthcare products says it is creating 141 jobs in an expansion of its manufacturing center.

The Charlotte Observer reports BestCo of Mooresville says the expansion is worth $47.5 million. BestCo President Tim Condron says the expansion will allow the company to meet demand that is outstripping current capacity, among other things.

BestCo is getting a cash grant of $150,000 from One North Carolina Fund in exchange for the project.

According to its website, BestCo already employs more than 450 people in Iredell County and develops consumer healthcare products, including over-the-counter drugs and dietary supplements.

A news release from Gov. Roy Cooper’s office says while salaries for the new jobs will vary by position, they will average $48,308. That’s higher than Iredell County’s average of $47,345.
